KYIV, Oct 18 – Providing opportunities for Ukraine to import from Poland up to 6.6 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas per year requires additional investment in the Polish system, the decision on which will be made after a detailed economic analysis, the Polish gas transmission operator Gaz-System said.
"The current gas connection from Poland to Ukraine allows the transfer of up to 2 billion cubic meters of gas per year on an interruptible conditionally continuous basis. Providing available capacity of 6.6 billion cubic meter per year requires additional investments in the transmission system managed by Gaz-System. An investment decision in this respect will be made after an appropriate economic analysis, backed up by contractual obligations between the parties," according to a press release on the website of the operator.
