KYIV, Oct 15 – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is mulling a possibility of providing a new program to Ukraine to finance development of renewable energy as part of the "green" auction system scheduled for the launch in 2020, Senior Banker of the Power and Energy Projects at the EBRD Olga Yeriomina told reporters in Kyiv on Tuesday.
"This will be a new program. We hope that there will be longer support (the last program covered two years). We also hope that we will provide large amounts of funds for auctions, although this will depend on how the Ukrainian side determines quotas [support for various types of renewable energy] for the auctions," she said after a roundtable devoted to new challenges for Ukrainian renewable energy in the event of changes in the conditions of government support held in Kyiv on Tuesday.
