KIEV, Aug. 2 ??“ Ukrainian mining and metallurgical enterprises increased metal production by 7% in January-July 2006, compared to January-July 2005, while reducing production of ferroalloys and manganese ore.

According to the Industry Ministry, the production of prepared rolled steel, steel and pig iron rose by 7%, to 19.74 million tons, 23.5 million tons and 18.83 million tons respectively.
