KIEV, Aug. 1 ??“ KarpatNaftoKhim, Ukraine??™s major petrochemical company formerly known as Lukor, on Tuesday started shutting down its chlorine and caustic soda plant in Kalush, a company spokesman said.

The shutdown process will probably take four days, after which the company will start dismantling the facility in order to build a new, 68 million euros worth state-of-the-art plant.
