KYIV, June 27 – Embargo on imports of potash and phosphate fertilizers from July 1 would result in their shortage on the Ukrainian market, according to advisor of the Ukrainian Agrarian Council for cooperation with public authorities Dmytro Kokhan.
"If we were talking exclusively about nitrogen fertilizers, this would mean a renewal of justice. In fact, Ukraine would close supplies from the plants of the Russian oligarch Arkady Rotenberg, who was the only one not subject to sanctions. However, imports of potash and phosphate fertilizers, which are not produced in Ukraine, are also being closed. The government condemns domestic agriculture to a shortage with such a step," Kohan told Interfax-Ukraine.
