KYIV, June 13 – The Cabinet of Ministers has amended the resolution on imposing public service obligations (PSO) to supply electricity for the needs of households from July 1, 2019, increasing the obligation of National Nuclear Generating Company Energoatom to sell its electricity at auctions held for the signing of bilateral contracts from at least 60% to 90% of the total volume of electricity generated by the company.
This decision was made at a government meeting on Wednesday. It is planned that electricity will be acquired by the Guaranteed Buyer (created by the state-owned enterprise Energomarket, which will buy green electricity) for the purpose of compensating energy producers from alternative sources the difference between feed-in tariffs and lower market prices of electricity.
