KYIV, May 30 - Program Leader for World Bank's Infrastructure and Sustainable Development Baher El-Hifnawi has said the land market in Ukraine should be opened for ensuring stable development of all sectors, including the port sector.
He said at the Ukrainian Port Forum 2019 in Odesa on Thursday that Ukraine has 33 million ha of farmland, and this is second largest in Europe. One third of these areas are good fertile land, but the effectiveness of agriculture in Ukraine is one third of the level in Poland, and one sixth of the level of Germany, he said.
