KYIV, May 24 – The deficit of Ukraine's budget would be 2.3% of GDP in 2019, according to the World Bank's Ukraine Economic Update published on Thursday.
"The slowdown in economic growth was projected during the approval of the national budget for 2019. In addition, we believe that a positive factor for fiscal stability is that the growth of the minimum wage, even despite the year of double elections, was kept within the framework of nominal GDP growth. That is, the most important factors of pressure on fixed stability – on the part of the wage fund – will be leveled thanks to this," World Bank Economist for Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova Anastasia Golovach said, presenting the World Bank's latest Ukraine Economic Update.
