KYIV, May 15 – Ukraine in the short term will not feel the impact of a trade war between the United States and China, while in the long term everything depends on the outcome of negotiations between these countries, Vitaliy Kravchuk, a senior researcher at the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting, has stated.
"The situation unambiguously harms the world's trading system, as the risks increase that later the practice of recourse to the mutual closure of markets could repeat more often. However, negotiations between the United States and China continue, and everything, of course, depends on their outcome. If agreements are concluded and trade measures are canceled, Ukraine will not feel their influence. Negative impact in the worst case scenario will affect in a few months," he told Interfax-Ukraine.
