KYIV, May 6 – The international reserves of Ukraine in April 2019 decreased by 0.5%, to $20.525 billion (in equivalent) due to the significant amount of public debt repayments, according to preliminary data posted on the website of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
According to the central bank, the decrease in international reserves in April was due to payments for servicing and repaying public and publicly guaranteed debt in foreign currency in the amount of $881.7 million, including $710.3 million for servicing and repaying government domestic loan bonds in foreign currency and $78 million for servicing eurobonds.
