KYIV, Feb 25 - Kernel, one of the largest Ukrainian agrarian groups, has received a $48 million long-term loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), as well as a $8 million loan from the Clean Technology Fund for the construction of a combined heat and power plant (CHPP) on sunflower husk, EBRD Senior Advisor for External Affairs Anton Usov said on Facebook.
The EBRD arranged financing in the amount of $56 million for Kernel Group to build and operate four biomass plants at the company's production facilities in Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Odesa and Poltava regions. Financing consists of an EBRD loan of $48 million and a Clean Technology Fund credit of $8 million, the banker said.
