KIEV, July 14 ??“ Ukraine on Friday rejected the use of energy as a means of exerting political pressure and insisted it is a reliable country for the transit of energy resources from Russia to Europe.

Ukraine issued a statement a day ahead of the G8 summit in St. Petersburg apparently seeking to win support from world leaders in likely future gas price disputes with Russia.
