KYIV, Jan 23 – The State Automobile Roads Agency of Ukraine, also known as Ukravtodor, initiates the switch to tougher European standards for dimensions and weight for traffic – Council Directive 96/53/EC of July 25, 1996.

"If we speak in terms of numbers, then in accordance with the said directive only some vehicle combinations with four or six axles can move with a weight of 40 tons in Europe, whereas for the most common two-axle and three-axle vehicles in Ukraine these parameters are set at 18-24 tons," Ukravtodor said in a press release on Monday.
