KYIV, Dec 7 — Ukraine's Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said it is necessary to discontinue gender inequality in payments for labor.
In his address to the Second Ukrainian Women's Congress in Kyiv on December 7, Groysman said that gender inequality has long since been neglected in Ukraine.
"We must do everything possible to establish equality in our society," he said. He said that in Ukraine such inequality can especially be seen in terms of payment for labor. "For some reason, women are paid 25% less money. I have no answer to this question. I think it is a thing of the past, something that cannot be allowed for in a civilized society," the prime minister said.
