ASHGABAT, June 3 - Turkmenistan's plans to dramatically increase natural gas prices are not aimed at destabilizing the situation in Russia or Ukraine, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in a statement Monday.

The statement comes days Ukraine and Turkmenistan failed to agree on gas supplies after Ashgabat had insisted on a 67% price hike as a condition to resume gas deliveries.
