KYIV, Oct 26 – The pace of entering the Kyiv market by retailers in 2018 is slower than the figures of 2016-2017, when in January-September some 16 new brands appeared, while in January-September 2018 – only 12, which is 25% less, the press service of Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) in Ukraine has reported.
"Although we are seeing a decline in the number of new players, many of the iconic debutants, including H & M, Zara Home, DeFacto, Koton, which opened their first stores, as well as the upcoming IKEA and Decathlon, are entering the market directly, and not through a partner. Investments of these global companies are evidence of their confidence in the Ukrainian market and are important signals for other retailers about the sustainable development of the local retail market," Head of the retail space department at JLL Kateryna Vesna said.
