KYIV, Oct 24 – A range of companies of Naftogaz Ukrayiny by 2020 will spend a total of $987 million on reaching two strategic goals for the group, which is to step up natural gas extraction and secure seamless operation of the gas transportation system (GTS), procurement director of the group Orest Lohunov has announced.

"Considering the speed with which we have been given licenses and how our access to new gas wells has been artificially limited by various bureaucratic means, the only path that has left available to us is to step up production at our existing wells with the help of new technologies," he said.
