KIEV, June 28 ??“ A group of opposition lawmakers locked themselves in Parliament for 24 hours Wednesday seeking to block the legislature as the Regions Party had been trying to force the coalition to accept its ultimatum.

The move shows the party, which controls 186 seats in 450-seat Parliament, has been successfully carrying out its threat to paralyze the work of Parliament until it receives control over key committees.
