MOSCOW, Sept 14 - The United States does not rule out the possibility of imposing new sanctions against the Russian energy sector, U.S. Energy Secretary Rick Perry has told reporters after a meeting with Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak.

When asked by reporters whether new sanctions might be imposed on Russia's energy sector and the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project in particular, Perry said "yes."

Novak, in turn, expressed concerns about such a possibility.
