U.S.-Canada trade dispute weakens unity in anti-Russia coalition: Ukrainian ambassador
Journal Staff Report

KYIV, Aug 30 - The aggravation of relations between the United States and Canada amid talks on the North American Free Trade Agreement might threaten Ukraine's interests by weakening the unity among the key partners in the anti-Russian coalition, Ukrainian Ambassador to Canada Andriy Shevchenko said.

"It is very important for Ukraine that understanding should be among our strategic partners. Therefore, the aggravation of relations between Canada and the United States or even a trade war is a threat to Ukraine," he said in an exclusive interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
