KIEV, June 13 ??“ Ukraine??™s new car sales rocketed 81% on the year in May after Russian automaker AvtoVAZ had cut prices ahead of July 1 when most of its cars will not be allowed for imports.

The car sales rose to 50,000 in May, a record number in Ukraine, up from 36,000 in April and 31,000 in March, the State Statistics Committee reported.
