KIEV, June 9 ??“ Generali Holding Vienna AG will buy 51% stake in Garant-Auto and Garant-LIFE, two insurance companies owned by UkrAvto Group, the biggest producer of cars in Ukraine, according to an agreement signed Friday.

The deal, which is being reviewed by regulators, gives an Austrian insurance group a foothold in Ukraine to tap lucrative life and car insurance markets in the country.
