KYIV, April 20 - The Interdepartmental Commission for International Trade (ICIT) has rejected the request by Ukrtatnafta to conduct a special investigation into imports of oil products, according to the website of the Ukrainian Economic Development and Trade Ministry.
The commission made a respective decision at a meeting on April 20.
"Taking into account the absence of sharp and unexpected growth in imports, the ICIT decided not to launch a special investigation. At the same time, the ICIT listened to the public opinion that the introduction of barriers to imports could lead to destabilization of the motor fuel market, the emergence of a deficit and a sharp rise in prices as for fuel, as well as for other consumer goods," the ministry said.
