Ukraine unlikely to get IMF loan as govt stops reforms, NBU official says
Journal Staff Report

KYIV, April 5 – Ukraine is unlikely to receive an installment from the International Monetary Fund any time soon because the government has suspended reforms, a senior central bank official said Thursday.

Tymofiy Milovanov, a member of the Council of the National Bank of Ukraine, said corruption is back to levels that suppress economic growth.

"Reforms have actually stopped. There is a small likelihood that IMF tranches will arrive. Oligarchs have returned to power. Business is raided. Corruption has changed its face, but not disappeared," Milovanov wrote on his Facebook page.
