KYIV, March 15 - The National Bank of Ukraine in 2018 already purchased nearly $800 million in foreign exchange reserves, President Petro Poroshenko said.
"If I'm not mistaken, this year the National Bank has purchased forex reserves worth about $800 million," Poroshenko said, when presenting new NBU Governor Yakiv Smolii in Kyiv.
He stressed that the main task of the National Bank today is to ensure the stability of the national currency, inflation targeting and, as a result, increasing foreign exchange reserves.
