KYIV, Feb 26 – The upgrading of outdoor lighting in Kyiv, for which it is planned to allocate UAH 300 million this year, will increase security in the streets and save significant funds of the city budget, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.
"New modern lighting helps make our streets much better illuminated and safe, so our task is to replace all the lighting in Kyiv. We will be able to save UAH 30-40 million on electricity annually," he said on the Kyiv television channel on Friday, February 23, adding that every year the Ukrainian capital pays UAH 120 million for outdoor lighting.
