MOSCOW, May 31 ??“ Norway??™s Telenor asked Russian mobile operator Vimpelcom to extend until July 1 talks over the sale of Kyivstar, Ukraine??™s largest cell phone company, the company reported.

Vimpelcom has been seeking to acquire Kyivstar for $5 billion in shares in a deal that would benefit Vimpelcom??™s major Russian shareholder, Altimo.
