KYIV, Dec 14 – According to experts, 11.7 million ha of land in Ukraine is leased unofficially, which is 28% of the total area of farmland, Deputy Chairman of the parliamentary committee for agricultural policy and land relations Oleksandr Bakumenko said.

"Under land lease agreement only 22.6 million ha is cultivated officially. Thus, the potential volume of land in the shadow lease is around 11.7 million ha or 28% of the total area of farmland," he said at the conference entitled "Decentralization, Land Management and Development of Communities" in Kyiv on Thursday.
