KIEV, May 19 ??“ The number of foreign-owned banks in Ukraine rose to 11 from 9 at the beginning of the year due to deals completed by Raiffeisen, BNP Paribas and Credit Agricole, the National Bank of Ukraine reported.

By May 1, there were 28 banks with foreign capital out of 166 banks that had banking licenses issued by the NBU. The Ukrainian banks' net assets by the said date topped UAH 233 billion.
