Lawmakers examine why Centrenergo, Turboatom don’t have independent directors
Journal Staff Report

KYIV, Nov 7 – The ad hoc privatization commission of Parliament is studying why the supervisory boards of public joint-stock companies Centrenergo and Turboatom do not have independent directors, Deputy Commission Head MP Pavlo Rizanenko said.

"We know that the State Property Fund (SPF) is making an attempt to avoid the implementation of legislation and reorganize [the enterprises] into a private joint-stock company, so as not to hold a tender to select independent members of the supervisory board. Therefore, we are working on this particular issue," - he said at a roundtable devoted to publicity of joint-stock companies, their new content and new perspectives held in Kyiv.
