ODESA, Sept 25 - Naftogaz Ukrayiny, the national energy company, imported 6.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas in January-August, up 83% on the year, the company reported Monday.

Naftogaz’s purchases of gas, which includes purchases from domestic producers, rose 29.8% natural gas imports to 15.6 Bcm in Jan-Aug, the company said.

"This year Naftogaz has bought gas from 12 European suppliers. None of the companies delivered more than 30% of imported gas," Naftogaz said.
