KYIV, Sept 25 – The board chairman of Kyivoblenergo, a major regional power distributing company, was found dead in his house on Sunday after an apparent attack by a group of assailants, police reported Monday.
Ivan Polyviany was bludgeoned to death, police said.
"It has been established that a group of men snuck through the fence to the yard of the victim. The assailants attacked the owner, dragged him into the house and tied him and his wife up. They then beat the pair, demanding they disclose the whereabouts of a safe. Not receiving this information, they stole UAH 15,000 from the house, a gold ring from the woman, and dragged the man into another room, where he was later found dead by police," the National Police of Ukraine's Kyiv region office said on Monday.
