KYIV, Sept 22 – The shadow economy in Ukraine in Q1 2017 declined to 37% of GDP, by 6 percentage points (p.p.) year-over-year.
However, the shadow economy grew compared with the previous quarter, as in Q4 2016 it was 35% of GDP, according to tentative calculations posted by the Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine on its website on Thursday.
"All four methods used to assess the shadow economy showed its reduction compared with Q1 2016," the ministry said.
