KYIV, Sept 12 – The funding of transactions linked to foreign trade totals around 4-5% of the loan portfolio of Ukrainian banks, Senior Banker of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Director of the financial department in Ukraine Oleksandr Pavlov has said.
"According to our assessments, the portfolio of Ukrainian banks has no more than 4-5% of financing of transactions in foreign trade. Taking into account the important role of foreign trade in Ukraine, that the country is a large exporter and importer, this is not enough," he said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Monday devoted to the Ukrainian Forum on Trade Finance entitled "Trends in Trade between Ukraine, Asia and the Middle East."
