KYIV, Sept 5 - Transit of natural gas through the gas transportation system (GTS) of Ukraine in the period from January 1 to September 1 rose to 62.218 billion cubic meters, according to data from state gas shipper Ukrtransgaz.
The supplies exceed the transit of 62.197 billion cubic meters that was supplied in the entire year of 2014.
Low figures of 2014 are connected with the attempts of Gazprom to oppose the beginning of Ukraine's reverse gas purchases from Europe. To this end, the Russian company even failed to fulfill the applications of its counterparties from Europe.
