KYIV, Aug 29 – Foreign direct investment (FDI) in Ukraine as equity capital as of July 1, was $39 billion, which was up 4.4%, or $1.66 billion, on the beginning of the year, the State Statistics Service said on Tuesday.
In the first six months of 2017, non-residents increased investment in Ukraine by $0.71 billion, while disinvesting $0.21 billion, it said.
The main gain was due to a forex rate difference estimated at $0.99 billion, which was most likely related to the weakening of the U.S. dollar to major world currencies.
