KIEV, July 6 – Sanofi S.A., a French multinational pharmaceutical company, said Thursday operation of its Ukrainian subsidiary is in jeopardy following an alleged raider attack that had defrauded the firm of UAH 42 million.
Sanofi-Aventis Ukraine, as the subsidiary is known, said the money was illegally taken from the company’s bank account using forged documents.
But the transaction was endorsed by a controversial court ruling, forcing the company to appeal to the government and to law enforcement services for protection.
