KIEV, June 26 – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank plan to invest EUR 50 million in development of the Dnipro River as a transport route.

Ukraine's Infrastructure Ministry reported that the issue was discussed at the Dnipro as European Waterway conference.

"With a booming agricultural industry, there is great challenge for the Ukrainian transport and logistics network to facilitate its potential. Ukraine has a unique asset which could allow it to become a strategic part of the European economy: the Dnipro River," Dutch Ambassador to Ukraine Kees Klompenhouwer.
