KIEV, June 7 – A suspected Russian hit man was Wednesday ordered by court to be in custody for two months as police investigates an assassination attempt against a Ukrainian battalion commander.
Adam Osmayev, who commanded the battalion of Chechen nationals fighting against pro-Russian militants in Donbas, was shot twice by the hit man in Kiev on June 1.
Osmayev survived after his wife, Amina Okueva, opened fire on the attacker, shooting him four times in the chest, hip and back.
