KIEV, May 24 - Ukraine's parliament has amended some legislative acts concerning the protection of primary forests within the Framework Convention on the Protection and Sustainable Development of the Carpathians.
Respective bill No. 4480 was supported by 245 lawmakers in second reading at a plenary session on Tuesday.
According to the law, any logging, hunting and any other activities that threaten the forests and lead to degradation or change of their primary condition are prohibited in territory of the virgin forest reserves.
