KIEV, May 3 – Ukraine has to switch to electrical residential heating to reduce natural gas imports and to save on infrastructure, Ukrainian businessman Konstantin Grigorishin said Wednesday.
The plan would require $7 billion investment in power transmission lines during the next 10 years, and would help save 5-6 billion cubic meters of gas annually.
"Electricity is more progressive, as only two elements of infrastructure are required – power lines and water supply. We save on investment into heat and gas distribution pipelines," he said in an interview with the Energoreforma.
