KIEV, April 11 ??“ Ukraine will seek to accelerate development of a natural gas field off-shore the Black Sea near Odessa so that first gas can be extracted in early 2007, the Energy and Fuel Ministry said.

The gas field, which is estimated to contain up to 18 billion cubic meters of gas, may be worth at least $1.8 billion in current gas prices in effect in Ukraine, analysts said.
