KIEV, March 1 – Dwindling supplies of anthracite coal in the balance of energy would result in a shortage of electricity this summer or a risk of the failure of the next heating season over the inability of carrying out repair in the non-heating season, said acting Ukrenergo head Vsevolod Kovalchuk.
"These risks have been postponed for several weeks or for the period of up to two months, but they require urgent solution to have supplies of anthracite coal in the amount of at least 5,000-10,000 tons a day by the end of next month, I mean April," he said at a meeting of Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman with mining companies.
