KIEV, Feb. 27 – Fish-producing companies will be able to access financing from a EUR 400 million loan of the European Investment Bank in May 2017.
"Last year Ukraine managed to receive a loan from the EIB. We have managed to receive international assistance for development of fish industry for the first time. According to our estimates, all formal preparations will be finished in May and the funds will be available for businessmen," Head of the State Fish Agency Yarema Kovaliv said at a press conference in Kiev last week.
He said that first since 2013 the national budget for 2017 envisages financing of the fish and aquatic resources breeding program for the Azov and Black seas in the amount of UAH 40 million. Pilot fish breeding projects will be implemented in Kiev and Kaniv water-storage basins.
