KIEV, Feb. 16 – President Petro Poroshenko has pointed to the need to immediately start the work to switch thermal power plants (TPP) from using anthracite coal, which is delivered from the occupied areas of Donbas, to gas coal, which is available in areas under government control.

"We are talking about a substantial increase of the efficiency, and making so that they should operate using any types of fuel [under the projects on TPPs modernization]. Though it will take two or three years, this work must begin immediately," the president's press service quoted Poroshenko as saying at a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council on Thursday.
