SAMARA, Jan. 27 – State-run enterprise Ukrkhimtransammiak has notified the largest ammonia producer in Russia OJSC Togliattiazot that the company intends to prepare for mothball of the trunk ammonia pipeline facilities which was used to pump products of the Russian company across Ukraine.

"Taking into account the refusal [of Togliattiazot] to sign an addendum to the contract [dated December 24, 2007 to transit ammonia], failure to repay the debt of $901,514 and the fact that Ukrkhimtransammiak does not have money to maintain the Ukrainian section of the ammonia pipeline and its safety due to actions of Togliattiazot we have to start preparing for mothball of the trunk ammonia pipeline's facilities," Ukrkhimtransammiak said in a letter sent to Togliattiazot on January 20.
