KIEV, April 5 ??“ Ukraine??™s consumer prices fell 0.3% on the month in March, led by lower foodstuffs and gasoline prices, helping the government to keep inflation at better-than-expected level in the first quarter, officials said.

The optimistic inflation figure gives the government room to go ahead with a liberalization of energy market by letting a major increase in gas and electricity prices starting in May.
