MYKOLAYIV, March 31 ??“ Ukraine??™s Mykolayiv Alumina Plant, the largest producer of alumina in Europe, launched the No. 5 calcinations furnace made by Germany's Lurgi for more than $20 million, Interfax reported Friday.

The new furnace, launched on Friday, will have twice the capacity of the plant??™s other furnaces and will produce 1,500 metric tons of alumina a day, the company said.
