KIEV, Dec. 20 - ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih has won a case on damage to the environment exceeding UAH 72 million at the Higher Economic Court of Ukraine against the prosecutor's office of Dnipropetrovsk region, acting in the interests of the state in the person of the State Ecological Inspectorate in Dnipropetrovsk region.
"The Higher Economic Court of Ukraine made a ruling, satisfying the cassation appeal of PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih in full. The decision of the Dnipropetrovsk Economic Court of Appeals has been overturned, while the ruling of the Economic Court of Dnipropetrovsk region remained unchanged. The latter refused the prosecutor's office the claim for the recovery of UAH 72.699 million from ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih for the damage caused to the state due to the violation of environmental legislation requirements," the report reads.
