KIEV, Dec. 7 – The government of Canada will provide $8.1 million in financial assistance for the development of the National Police of Ukraine in 2017 through the international technical assistance project, which is currently being registered, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry reported.

"Some $6.6 million will be spent on training Ukrainian law enforcement officers by Canadian police instructors. Then $1.5 million will be spent on modern technical equipment for police units and departments. The assistance will be provided through the Canadian Commercial Corporation - an official agency of the government of Canada which is coordinated by Canada's International Trade Ministry," the Ukrainian Interior Ministry reported in a statement posted on its Facebook page on Wednesday morning.
